Profile Activation

The information below applies only to sites and facilities that have submitted the feasibility questionnaire and subsequently received email approval from the New IDEAS Study team. You are not permitted to begin the profile activation process until you have received approval.

Follow these instructions to activate your referring site or imaging facility to participate in the New IDEAS Study. Your site will not be able to register or scan a study participant until these steps are complete.

Referring Dementia Expert Sites

  1. Establish a New IDEAS account
    1. Click Log In/Register at the top right corner of this page, then click Create your ACR ID and fill in the mandatory information.
    2. Locate the confirmation email sent to the address you used to register and click the embedded link to activate your account.
    3. Return to the Log In/Register link above, and click Log in with your ACR ID.

  2. Register your site via the New IDEAS application
    1. Pre-registration form
      1. Enter the official name of your site and receive a unique 4-digit Practice Number.
        Note: The person completing the pre-registration automatically receives site administrator access, which grants complete administrative functionality for the site’s page. If needed, multiple access levels can be given to the same individual (i.e., administrator and physician).
    2. Registration form
      1. Fill out all required site and personnel information. This includes site address, associated PET facility, IRB approval documents, referring dementia specialists, and applicable site staff (i.e., patient registrars, finance users and regulatory users).
      2. Site staff added within the application must locate the invitation email sent to them. Following that link will bring them to the “Create your ACR ID” page. Once they create an account and follow the activation link sent by the ACR, they will be able to log in and automatically connect to their site.
      3. Site physicians added within the application must also locate the invitation email sent to them. After an ACR ID is created and activated, they must log into the application and fill out their physician profile.
      4. - Once logged in, click the name in the top right corner then select “Physician profile”. Fill in all required information and submit.
        - Note: at least one physician must be identified as the Principal Investigator for the site.

  3. Submit IRB application (should occur simultaneously with steps #2 and #4).
    1. Submission instructions can be found on the Institutional Review Board page of this website. The template participant informed consent document will be provided by the study team in your site’s welcome email.
      Note: All participating dementia sites are obligated to use Advarra IRB as their IRB of record. Sites that have a local IRB will have to enter into an agreement to secede oversight.
    2. The IRB approval letter and approved ICF must be uploaded to the registration form before submission of the form is allowed.

  4. Fully execute the Referring Physician Agreement (process should occur simultaneously with steps #2 and #3).
    1. The contract template will be provided by the study team in your site’s welcome email. Please reach out to newideas-contracts@acr.org with all documents, edits and questions.

  5. Site activation
    1. Submit the Site Registration Form for approval by the New IDEAS Study team.
    2. The study team will review and activate your site.
    3. Registered site staff will receive an email notification when their site is “activated for patient accrual.” The application will then allow participant registrations to occur.

Amyloid PET Imaging Facilities

  1. Establish a New IDEAS account
    1. Click Log In/Register at the top right corner of this page, then click Create your ACR ID and fill in the mandatory information.
    2. Locate the confirmation email sent to the address you used to register and click the embedded link to activate your account.
    3. Return to the Log In/Register link above, and click Log in with your ACR ID.

  2. Register your facility via the New IDEAS application
    1. Pre-registration form
      1. Enter the official name of your facility and receive a unique 4-digit Practice Number.
        Note: The person completing the pre-registration form is automatically provided facility administrator access, meaning they have complete administrative functionality of the facility’s page. If needed, multiple access levels can be given to the same individual (i.e., administrator and physician).
    2. Registration form
      1. Fill out all required facility and personnel information. This includes facility address, PET scanner information, interpreting physicians, and applicable facility staff.
      2. Facility staff added within the application must locate the invitation email sent to them. Following that link will bring them to the “Create your ACR ID” page. Once they create an account and follow the activation link sent by the ACR, they will be able to log in and automatically connect to their facility.
      3. Interpreting radiologists/nuclear medicine physicians added within the application must also locate the invitation email sent to them. After an ACR ID is created and activated, they must log into the application and fill out their physician profile.
      4. - Once logged in, click the name in the top right corner then select “Physician profile”. Fill in all required information and submit.
        - Note: Interpreting radiologists/nuclear medicine physicians must complete the vendor-provided tracer-specific training program provided for each radiopharmaceutical that the facility will use. See additional information and access amyloid tracer reader training.

  3. Fully execute the PET Facility Data Access Agreement (process should occur simultaneously with step #2).
    1. The contract template will be provided by the study team in your facility’s welcome email. Please email newideas-contracts@acr.org with all documents, edits or questions.

  4. Facility activation
    1. Submit the PET Facility Registration Form for approval by the New IDEAS Study team.
    2. The study team will review and activate your site.
    3. Registered facility staff will receive an email notification when their facility is “activated for patient scanning.” The application will then allow participant data collection to occur.
